Hydrogeology exploration and assessment

The hydrogeological capabilities of AIL are complementary to its geophysical capabilities and they are both frequently provided as a combined service. Our senior staff are highly qualified hydrogeologists with global experience covering a wide variety of hydrogeological environments. We can provide the following hydrogeological services:
  • Project Management – The design, specification and supervision water well drilling programmes for the abstraction of groundwater intended for potable or industrial applications. This includes the full range of activities commencing with the initial review of available data to the final commissioning of the source.
  • Groundwater Resource Evaluation – The design and implementation of regional groundwater resources assessments. This involves the preparation and supervision of the data collection and collation programme using database and GIS technologies, processing of the hydrogeological data, the evaluation of options for resource utilisation and its final reporting to the client.
  • Wellfield Testing, Analysis and Design – The planning and execution of pump testing programmes and data analysis.
  • Aquifer Modelling – Groundwater modelling and aquifer protection studies.
  • Geophysics – Specialisation in surface and borehole geophysics in relation to groundwater resource and contaminant studies.
  • Environmental surveys – These include water quality monitoring, environmental impact and risk assessments, contaminant transport modelling, plume delineation, contaminated land advice and source protection zone analysis.
  • Dewatering – Evaluation of dewatering solutions for engineering, ground improvement and mining works
