Our History
Formed originally in 1998 in the UAE, AIL was founded by a group of European specialists who had been providing hydrogeology, geophysical and drilling management technical services in the Middle East, since the 1980s. AIL currently has its key operational bases in Oman and Qatar and has ventured into Europe and SE Asia on a number of collaborative business ventures. Since the early 2000s, AIL has seconded staff to a variety of industries, for short to long term hires, ranging from one-month cross hires, to decade long company management contracts. This led to the establishment of AIL-International which focuses on our clients’ temporary specialist personnel requirements.

Leadership Team
David Beniston | Director

David is a professional Hydrogeologist with over 30 years’ experience across Europe, The Middle East and SE Asia. Professionally he has managed a wide variety of water and related drilling projects in the Food & Water, Oil & Gas, Marine, Mining and Environment sectors. He also specializes in company setup and management in the Drilling and Earth science fields, having been a founding Director of the following establishments: Andam International LLC (2002, Oman); IDS (2009, Oman); Drillserv (2017, Qatar); PT Andam Resorsis Nusantara (2012, Indonesia); Secure Water Partners (2015, Singapore); Fior Uisce Mineral Waters (2000, Ireland) and AIL-International (2021, Qatar).
Reiner Stollberg | Director
Dr. rer. nat. Hydro & Environ Geology,
Dipl.-Geol. (eq. MSc)
Reiner is a principal hydrogeologist servicing the water, mining, oil & gas, and construction services industries for more than 15 years. He holds a doctorate in hydrogeology and environmental geology from the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ), Germany. He successfully delivered projects across Europe, Latin America, Southern Africa, and the Middle East in the fields of hydrogeological investigation, ground water development, urban ground water management, environmental site characterisation, numerical water flow and solute transport modelling, and remediation. Reiner established and managed the Service Line – Water Consultancy of Fugro for the Middle East & India region since 2018 before joining AIL International in October 2022.
